Antwerp & Northern Flanders

Flanders might not be on your bucket list, but if you look closer you might find something of great value and this is exactly how we feel at CHASEGOLF Travel. With beautiful Flemish architecture, historical monuments, and amazing sights, Antwerp is one of those destinations that will surprise you.

The port city of Antwerp, also known as the capital of diamonds, is lively and boasts cobbled streets, charming cafés and friendly people. The Belfry and Grote Markt square are remarkable, especially at night.

North of Antwerp lies the beautiful Royal Antwerp, a Tom Simpson heathland course ranked number 1 in the country. On the eastern part of the Flanders, the region of Limburg also boasts great golf courses; one of them in particular, Royal Limburg, is worth mentioning for its amazing heather flower beds especially in bloom in spring. A spectacle you will remember for a long time.

Bruges & Western Flanders

Also part of Flanders, the charming city of Bruges, is a magnificent hidden gem in Belgium. Do not miss this opportunity to cruise along the canals and wander around the old town and its fabulous architecture. There is truly no words that could describe how exciting It is to explore Bruges after a nice dinner. Bruges is ideally located for a golf trip as you are close to amazing links courses, such as Royal Ostend and Royal Zoute. The coastal towns are also fun with lots of activities in the summertime, a wonderful family-friendly destination on its own.

Brussels

Brussels is among the top European destinations. Home to the European Parliament, Brussels is well-known for its culinary specialties such as waffles, chocolates, mussels, fries, and many types of beers, but also for its historical and architectural landmarks; some of them registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites: La Grand Place, the Stoclet House and the Major Town Houses of the architect Victor Horta. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998, La Grand-Place is considered by many to be the most beautiful square in the world (especially during night-time), and still houses the City of Brussels Town Hall. Other sights and main attractions include the Manneken Pis, the Atomium, and several museums. Brussels is a vibrant city with lots to see and do and we recommend this city escape to anyone whether you are traveling with your partner or with a group of friends or family members. A fun place to be and a great place to create memories if you ask us.

Brussels is surrounded by some of the greatest golf courses in the country. Within reasonable distance, Royal Belgium and National Golf Brussels are both in the same area several miles apart, which makes it easy to combine on a single day. South of Brussels, Royal Waterloo, located in Wallonia, is also pretty close and can easily be reached in 40 minutes. Belgium is a tiny country overall and Brussels could serve as a home base while playing further golf courses such as Limburg, Sart Tilman or Fagnes. The northern courses (Zoute, Ostend, and Antwerp) truly deserve a nearby stay.

Eastern and Southern Belgium

While most visitors coming to Belgium want to see Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges, the main cities can be overcrowded at times and sites can be at maximum capacity, especially in the summer months. We have some fabulous ideas for you and you might be surprised how pretty some of the lesser-known cities are. Adventure off-the-beaten-path and discover Eastern Belgium while playing some of the best courses in the country.

Explore the town of Liège (aka the “Burning City”) and its charming, colorful houses, its churches, and alleys of steep stairs. Only a few miles from Liège, the town of Spa is also a popular destination in Belgium, renowned for its natural mineral springs and historic thermal water center. The city has recently been listed among the top 11 Spa towns in the world on a transnational UNESCO World Heritage list. Spa is also home to the first-ever built casino in the world and hosts the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix each year. Less than 1 hour away from Liège, the hidden gem of Dinant is worth a visit too.
