A Little Girl Picking Flowers

Southern Holland

There are plenty of reasons why you should go off-the-beaten path and play amazing golf courses in the Netherlands. The city of Eindhoven is one of them. You’d actually be surprised but Eindhoven is one of the oldest cities in the country, yet, probably the most modern, artistic and forward thinking city of all. The architectural contrast between the old and the new world is quite impressive. Eindhoven boasts many restaurants with cute outdoor terraces, shops and shopping malls, museums and a large football stadium. You could check out the Santa Catarina Church and/or visit some of the best breweries in town.

Another attraction in southern Holland is Nuenen, a charming village located near Eindhoven and former home to Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. The artist was actually very active as a painter during his stay in Nuenen and this led to his first masterpiece, the Potato Eaters. The Van Gogh Museum in Nuenen is a destination on its own and a perfect day trip for art lovers. Explore the museum, check-out the fabulous statues dedicated to the artist and consider a roadtrip in search of the famous Van Gogh windmills and watermills. They still exist today and are now official Van Gogh monuments. Situated just north of Nuenen, De Roosdonck windmill can be seen in many of Vincent’s paintings and drawings, while the century-old watermills are located on the Dutch section of the River Dommel. The perfect cultural immersion in the Netherlands to us. For golf lovers, Southern Holland is home to Bernardus GC, a Kyle Philips’s masterpiece and future host of the 2026 Solheim Cup as well as the noteworthy Eindhovensche GC.

Central Holland

Adventure in the heart of the Netherlands and explore Utrecht, the picture perfect “little Amsterdam”. Similar to Amsterdam, Utrecht boasts amazing canals, a well-preserved medieval city center and a venerable university. Considered as the symbol of Utrecht, the iconic 14th century Dom Tower stands opposite the Gothic Cathedral of St Martin and dominates the city center. Utrecht is one of the country’s best kept secrets, a hidden gem you do not want to miss while visiting the Netherlands. Quaint, charming and less visited than Amsterdam, this hidden gem has many cosy bars and restaurants, historical monuments, museums, botanical gardens and much more to consider. Just a few miles north of the city, the impressive De Haar Castle is one of the main attractions in the Netherlands and a must-see if you are in the area.
